2011 YCSD Seminar Series
YCSD has devised a five-part seminar series for the general public, The 2011 Demystifying Series, which will be presented through the course of the spring and autumn of 2011. The Demystifying Series will bring professional guest speakers to Yonkers to speak on a wide-range of topics, each of which will be considered through the prism of direct community engagement in civic affairs.
A primary YCSD objective is to give assistance to the many people in Yonkers who desire a voice in community affairs but feel unequal to the task because the topics are overwhelmingly complex. The Seminar Series is specifically designed to demystify topics that can appear daunting, but which become less so as each element is analyzed and simplified.
The next upcoming seminar, the second in the series, “State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) & Yonkers Development” will be on Thursday, April 28, 7 p.m. at the Philipse Manor Hall, 29 Warburton Avenue Yonkers, NY 10701. Guest speakers will be Nanette Bourne, Senior Planner, AKRF; Westchester Chapter Chair, NY League of Conservation Voters; and Willie Janeway, Regional Director, NYS Department of Environmental Conversation.

All of the seminars are free of charge. There will be time for Q&A with presenters and refreshments will be served.
